No turkey and stuffing. Red snapper stuffed with peppers. A colonial Thanksgiving from a different colony. Open window and the crash of surf, and wind-agitated palm trees. High ceilings and tall shutter windows and doors. Linen and loafers. One more week to attempt the avoidance of sunburn. Business requirements of a suit and tie in the coming week.
Old San Juan?
ReplyDeleteYou lucky man...are you in Cuba?
ReplyDeleteAs a recent graduate, I would appreciate if you could divulge your expert insight on acceptable suit brands, oxford shoes, and watches.
ReplyDeleteWill an associate cultivate resentment from superiors if they wore Omega or Tag watches? How about if one wore Allen Edmonds' lace-up?
Well hope you're enjoying the Cuban Cohibas.
I'm envious. Really. When they finally open it back up, I'm moving.

ReplyDeleteAre those genuine Panama hats for 75 bucks? Shit man, bring me back that big floppy brimmed one on a 7 3/8
ReplyDelete@Anonymous 2:20 -- generally speaking, the only way to cultivate true resentment among the partnership is to overvalue your contribution. Hit your billables, generate quality work product (polished, spell-checked, correctly formatted and, above all, correct), and you can wear whatever watch you damn well please.
ReplyDeleteMy guess as to His YaWP's sartorial advice would be to counsel proper fit over proper labels. Investing in good shoes is never a mistake; AE would be in that category.
I guess Old San Juan also. I think I've been in that shop.

ReplyDeleteI'm based in Old San Juan, but jaunting about all over the islands. JKG has hit it perfectly with the suggestion to Anon 2:20. I would only add that never being late is now the single most important differentiating quality that will set you apart from the others. For those of you who have put acquisition requests in, I will honor each of them... don't worry.
