I have distinct memories of female cousins engaged in activities where they were wearing the same thing as the boys were (which sometimes meant going shirtless or less), and none of us noticed it as an "issue of appropriateness." I mean, after all, we were seven years old. Morality aside, it seemed sad that he covered everything and she covered nothing.
